For adults, taking swim lessons extends far beyond fitness, it changes how you interact with water and enjoy time with family. Ami highlights that learning to swim delivers immediate safety benefits alongside lasting personal enjoyment:

"The biggest benefits is having confidence in the water yourself. Feeling confident that could save your children in the pool if it was ever needed (beaches and rivers/lakes are a different story). And enjoying playing in the pool with your kids and grandchildren. Having a dip in a hot day."

For many adults, stepping onto the pool deck for the first time can feel intimidating. However, Ami emphasises that fear is a natural part of the process and can be overcome at your own speed.

"Swimming is psychological. You have to conquer the fear first," Ami explains."That has to be done in small steps over months and sometimes years. It maybe slow but anybody and everybody can do it. Get familiar with it first, the first step is getting in, getting used to it buoyancy and how your body reacts to that, just walking up and down the pool can be a great way to build a positive association with it. There are no boundaries in swimming, especially age."

Building true water confidence changes the entire atmosphere of your family's warm-weather plans, turning anxiety into relaxation.

"Summer holidays are to be relaxing not sat being a nervous wreck thinking something terrible is going to happen," Ami shares. "You have to understand water and respect it. All family members should absolutely be taught water safety and NEVER be left unsupervised and their should be rules (for example: don’t go in the pool area without Mum or Dad, you wait for me and we hold hands and walk down to the water together) near any water. This will help everyone enjoy it. If you understand water you can have the confidence to relax around it so everyone can be safe and enjoy summer by the pool. There is lots of fun to be had, Safely and supervised."
